One of the most enjoyable photography projects I have had the opportunity to work on in recent years was a photo shoot at the beautiful Van der Valk Hotel Apeldoorn. Thanks to one of the hotel's managers, I was given permission to photograph several locations throughout the hotel. Among the places I captured were the lobby, the hotel bar, the restaurant and the swimming pool.
Van der Valk Hotel Apeldoorn is conveniently located alongside the A50 motorway. The hotel combines a bright, modern design with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Shades of moss green, beige and chocolate brown are used throughout the interior. It also features fourteen multifunctional meeting and event rooms, named after nearby villages such as Loenen, Lieren and Beekbergen. These rooms are decorated with impressive wall-sized photographs of red deer from the Veluwe region. In addition, the hotel offers a wellness area with a swimming pool, saunas and a fitness centre.
I am still very proud of the photographs I took here almost six years ago. Recently, I revisited them using the latest editing techniques, giving them a fresh new look. I'm delighted to share them with you once again from what I believe is one of the finest Van der Valk hotels.
If you're ever in the area, it's definitely worth stopping by for a drink or a meal. And who knows, you might even decide to stay the night in one of the hotel's beautiful rooms. And no, I don't own any shares in Van der Valk. 🫣
Hopefully, I'll have the opportunity to photograph this beautiful hotel again someday...
